A new kind of Jewel Quest5
This is different from the earlier Jewel Quest games, which are the Gold Standard of match 3 games. JQ Mysteries is more oriented to the hidden object genre, with a little bit of match 3 thrown in. I like both game types, so I loved this one. I also recommend the Jewel Quest Solitaire games, but only for players of card games.

my favorite5
I love this game, I am a hidden object player and love the puzzles too. Wish I could find more games like this.

Ok, great for hidden objuects, not so great for mini games3
I really enjoyed the hidden object portion of this game, pretty challenging and it stayed interesting, however, I found the mini games difficult and not fun to play. They were all lining up squares or tetris type games and I generally prefer a bigger variety in my mini games. You can skip them, but you lose your hints for the next screen!

Song List4
I believe that a music game is only as good as its songs. In “Pop Hits” you get 30. That’s not very many for a karaoke game. I was able to find the song list. Most of them are Disney Channel-esque. I hope this helps!

Colbie Caillat – “Realize”
Colbie Caillat – “Bubbly”
Coldplay – “Violet Hill”
Demi Lovato – “Get Back”
Demi Lovato – “La La Land”
Demi Lovato – “Don’t Forget”
Duffy – “Warwick Avenue”
Duffy – “Mercy”

SUPER FUN GAME 5 stars!!! f5
I love Disney Sing it pop hits, it is definently my favorte sing it game yet. The grafics are great, the voice trainer really does improve your voice!!! There are hit songs like “burning up” “the climb” “relize” “bubbly” “Lala land” “don’t forget” AND WAYYY more!!!!! i would recommend this game to anybody that likes karoke or just singing in genereal. Muliplayer is alot of fun too, play against, family and friends!!! :D to see who is the best!!! It keeps track of accuracy, sound, and even has the option of replaying it back to yourself so you personally can hear your ton, and see how you can improve you voice!!! This game i would reccomend to people ages 12 and up, because some of the songs are more for older ages like for teens, for example 7things is about a break-up and probably isn’t ment for a 8 year old to sing. But teens, and adults will love this game!!!! It does take like 1mn to pull up but once the main screen is up it is really fast moving!! The voice training “Sing it Pro” is fun and hard at the same time, it trains your voice, but at the same time takes some time. There are three levels for each lesson that you can pass. then you go onto the next lesson if wanted. Or you can skip around to the different lessons depending on what you need to improve or want to learn. The music videos are great and are good quality. But make sure if you get this game you have at least one mic. cause it requires one mic, but having to 2 is more fun so it is easier to play multiplayer. so if you love disney hits, and want to have the stage, this game is perfect for you!!! :D

OH YEAH I GIVE THIS GAME 5 stars for everything!!

Artist: Taylor Swift
Jonas bros
Miley Cyrus
Hannah Montana
Demi Lovato
And way more, but these are the ones that come to mind first!!!

THIS GAME IS TONS TONS TONS OF FUN!!!!!!!

Birthday gift5
My daughter loves the Jonas Brothers, and wanted this version of Sing It for her birthday, because they were on it. She absolutely loves this game. Not just the Jonas songs, but the entire game… She is constantly filling our home with the sound of her singing. Which makes us all love this game. I would certainly recommend it over the others she has. The songs are done by the true artists and not some studio singers from another country. Definitely prefer this Disney version…

NES Controller5
This product is exactly what I was looking for! The original NES controller built for the computer. Even though my old NES doesn’t work, I can still play the games like I used to on my NES Emulator with this controller! Awesome. Plus is shipped fast and wasn’t too bad with pricing!

Very nostalgic.5
This thing is great. It is an exact replica of the old school NES controller. The plug and play feature is a plus too. No software or driver installation- it makes for a quick and easy play. Also, to save you the time of researching a good emulator: Check out 8bitlinks.com or google JNES emulator. It is ideal for this gamepad and the setup is dummy-proof. Great product, five stars all around.

The greatest thing ever created5
Life was good when Nintendo came out. The world was simple and so were Video game graphics and controls. One joystick and two buttons.

Now I can truly play Excite Bike the way it was meant to be played. Yes, the square shape can cause your hand to get sore at times(your body adapts after a few uses), but that makes me feel like I am REALLY playing Nintendo. The buttons are high quality and the joystick is just the way I remember it. I was able to use this on Linux no issues.(not that most people care, but I have 100% abandoned Windows so this was important to me)

Great Headset – Excellent Price!5
I have had the Turtle Beach XLC headset for a month now and have a very firm grasp on what it’s all about. First and foremost, I have seen a number of people complaining that the chat is poor. This is because these people did not realize that the game sounds (effects, character voices, music, etc) must be turned down in the game settings menu–and then the chat is controlled by the TV volume. You need chat to be louder than game sounds, right? Well this is how you separate it!

Once properly adjusted, you can easily see why the XLC is an excellent headset and well worth the $29 price tag. In fact, the audio quality is outstanding for such a low price tag! Mic chat is clear as a bell–both incoming (when set up properly) and outgoing as well. Plus, the noise cancelling earpads are a very welcome feature to have since it allows you to completely focus on the game. For competitive FPS gamers like me, this is extremely useful.

Two things to keep in mind with the XLC:

1) Be sure to properly configure the game/chat balance as described above.
2) You must have a headphone jack on your TV (or home sound system receiver) to provide adequate power to the headset speakers. If you don’t have a headphone jack anywhere to power the speakers, then I would strongly recommend the X1 or X11 instead.

Ear Force XLC5
I got mine last week and I had the same thing happen. I could not hear anyone talking on the game chat, I was gonna send them back but I gave 1 more try. I found out that your tv volume is the chat volume so just turn the tv volume up, but don’t use the splitter cable that comes with it because that keeps you from turning up the tv volume. You have to turn down the in-game sound a little bit but it does work great. The best headset for less, it’s a must buy if you can’t spend a lot.

A great buy5
Like most people, I found that you had trouble hearing the in-game chat. I had to use the splitter that was included if you dont have a TV with a headphone option, and found that hooking the headphones up to the audio output and the game to the input fixes that problem. This product also works well as just a pair of headphones for music, movies, etc. This is definitely a great product for such a cheap price. If you experience any problems, just read the user manual and double check your hookups. For those buying this product, just make sure you have a TV with the A/V set or a headphone jack on it. The product includes the headset attached to a approx. 13.5′ cord, a splitter for a TV with A/V input/output setup, and of course, the User Manual.

Great value4
This is a fun game and a great value. By including two previously released games, updating the graphics, and adding additional content, this game was not only fun to play but also a terrific value.

If you have not played any of the previous Star Wars Lego games and enjoy action platformer types games this is a must buy. The action is light, fun, and addictive. There are some minor annoyances, the odd camera issue and some of the platforming aspects – controls could be a hair tighter – but these are generally minor annoyances.

To top it off, the game delivers goofball humor that is funny without being overly cheesy. Combine the easy to approach action with secrets and collectibles not obtained on a first play through and you have a game that actually appeals to all ages with tons of replay value.

Finally, the Star Wars license has been put to good use. Easily the best Star Wars game on any Playstation platform.

Father and Son unite5
The Father and Son I speak of are my own. This game was purchased originally for my grandson, but his dad loves playing it just as much as my grandson does. They sit down and take turns playing. It provides a good bonding time for them.

A great buy!4
After reading several reviews, I was pretty sure I would enjoy this game. I’m glad I bought it. It’s got a quick learning curve, ALL kinds of extras to discover, an enormous cast of characters, and it’s one of those games that plays thru somewhat speedily and doesn’t drag out. My only complaint is that the controls can be a bit hard to manage when it comes to jumping up onto things.
The levels progress rapidly, but are plentiful. After completing you can go back in “free play” mode and play the levels as any unlocked character, which you must in order to get all the goodies. I was a bit worried that after completing a level I would not want to go back, but that’s not the case at all. It’s enough fun that you really want to achieve the goals. The sound effects are well done, and often time hilarious. The game if full of droid sounds, ambience in the Cantina, ships racing thru space, and light sabers. Padme’s death cry still cracks me up!
I would highly recommend this game. It’s great fun for one or two players, and that’s hard to find these days!

Same excelent controller, new sexy color.5
This is the same controller with a nice new paint job just in time for Gears of War 2. It also comes with a play and charge kit which is why it is more expensive.

Awesome looking controller5
This controller is red with black outlining and it looks extremely nice. Also comes with a play and charge kit so that if you don’t have any batteries you can use this as an option. Really love the controller.

Good controller, just wish D-pad was better4
Overall I like the design of this controller. It is great for most modern games like RPGs and FPS. The reason I say modern is that with the increasing popularity of old school games on Xbox Live Arcade, this controller could use some improvements. The main problem is the D-pad. In most games I play, the D-pad is used sparingly, and usually only a single or couple of presses at a time. For that it is ok. But try playing Castlevania or Ninja Turtles and you’ll quickly find it unsatisfactory. Now I know you can use the joystick but the problem with those is that sometimes the input is unclear. For example in castlevania you press Up + Attack to use your special weapon. However sometime pressing Forward + Attack will be register as Up + Attack. If you try to use the D-pad you encounter the same issue. It has this curvature that makes it feel like a bowl which takes away the feel and makes precise inputs hard. It would have been nice if they just had a simple D-pad with Up, Down, Left, and Right like on Nintendo controllers. But if you only play more modern games that are made for the 360 then I think this controller is excellent and you don’t have to worry about my comments.

GREAT GAME. SUPER MARIO BROTHERS PART 2 FOR NES NINTENDO. ALL-TIME CLASSIC. A MUST FOR ANY TRUE HARDCORE GAMER, COLLECTOR OR GAME PLAYER. LOTS OF FUN. HERE IS SOME MINOR INFO ON THE GAME. Players choose from four characters each time they start or restart a level: Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Peach. Each has a special ability: Luigi can jump very high, the Princess can remain temporarily suspended in the air as if she were levitating, Toad can pick up things quickly and is very agile, and Mario is well-balanced in all areas. This is the only original Super Mario game where Princess Peach is not the damsel-in-distress along with being the first playable female character in a Mario game. In future Mario games in which multiple characters were playable, with the exception of Mario Golf, Mario would always be the most balanced character. A unique ability in this game is the “power squat”; by holding Down on the control pad for a few seconds, players could build power for higher jumps. One of the game’s most defining aspect is the ability to pluck vegetables from the ground to throw at enemies; these vegetables reappear in Super Smash Bros. Melee as one of Peach’s special attacks.

my favorite Mario on the NES5
While many consider this the black sheep of the Super Mario Bros series on the NES, this game is actually my favorite on the bunch. The world is nothing like the world of the other Mario games, and the enemies and bosses and goal is different. This is a quest to defeat Boss Wart (instead of Bowser) and you have the options of playing as one of four characters (with the ability to switch every level): Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad. Each of these characters have different play characteristics. Toad can pick up any object with no difficulty but is the worst jumper. Princess is the opposite (no strength, but can float). Luigi has the best jump (no float), but that becomes its own problem. Mario is perfectly average. These strengths and weaknesses come into play in choosing who to use for each level and some are clearly better than others on any given level. Even though I found this game to be the easiest of the bunch, for me it was also the most fun. This is still a side-scrolling game, but some levels scroll up and down on the screen (keeping the side-scrolling viewpoint, though) depending on if you are climbing or dropping down. There are shortcuts in many levels and different ways to warp, get extra lives (including an odd cheat for extra lives), or to shorten the game. In the end, there are a couple of difficult levels, but this may be the easiest of the three on the NES. Even so, this is my favorite of all of the Super Mario games on the NES.

Best Mario to be had on the NES5
Super Mario Bros 2 has been ridiculed and criticized since its release for being so “different” and “un-Mario”. I never understood that, is the game not fantastic? So what if it’s different, when did different become bad?

The actual Super Mario Bros 2 that was released in Japan was a straight sequel to Super Mario Bros. Basically the same game but with different levels, Mario and Luigi having different traits, and it was much harder (in America this game is commonly known as the “lost levels” found on Super Mario All Stars on the SNES). Nintendo of America wisely decided this wouldn’t fly in America, it was just too similiar to the original. So instead they took another Japanese game, Doki Doki Panic, threw Mario and the gang into it and called it Super Mario Bros 2.

Thank you Nintendo, because Doki Doki Panic/SMB2 is a great game! One of the best platformers ever. The game revolves entirely around the idea you can pick things up, either pulling vegetables out of the ground, enemies, or various other objects. This is all put to good use throughout the game providing interesting obstacles and tasks to complete. Things like having to throw the eggs back at the bird that just launched at you, having to lift creatures off their flying carpets so you can go for a ride, lift keys protected by magic masks, etc etc. Not to mention one of the best final boss encounters on the NES. It’s all really cool.

So get over how “different” this game is and just play it! All pretty amazing considering this was all the work of Fuji TV (developer of DDP). Weird, eh?

The Sweet Incense of Childhood!5
When Super Mario Brothers 2 was released in the US in 1988, the game became an instant hit with gamers. What makes SMB2 so strange is how utterly and drastically different the game really is from its predecessor, SMB, which is one of the pivotal cornerstones of the gaming industry. The game is expertly crafted (little surprise in that regard given it is a Miyamoto title), and just a great platformer with Mario quality, if not exactly Mario gameplay, written all over it.
.
Like most Nintendo franchises that began in the 1980s, the second installment in the series was incredibly weird and very different from the original. Case in point. Castlevania II:Simon’s Quest. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Super Mario Brothers 2. Mega Man 2. (Okay, I’m kidding about Mega Man 2. Mega Man is the one series that DOES NOT CHANGE AT ALL. Capcom remade Mega Man five times, and then moved it to the X series and remade that a bunch more times). Instead of jumping on turtles and goombas, trying to reach high scores, timed levels, SUPER MARIO 2 had absolutely nothing to do with the original game. It’s like Mario is on a bad acid trip. There’s transgendered, sexually confused birds shooting eggs (Birdo), mice that throw bombs and sport sunglasses, a weird, occultic, socially inept brotherhood that wears masks and robes, demonic phantos guarding keys, and a giant lizard who styles himself as a king takes control of people’s dreams (Freddy Krueger anyone?). Given the previous game, SUPER MARIO 2 is easily the weirdest of the main Mario series, make no mistake. The gameplay from SMB2, other than platforming, has absolutely nothing in common with the original SMB. You throw enemies at one another, throw vegetables, fight weird enemies, blow up walls with bombs, etc.

Although the Americans didn’t know it at the time, Nintendo wasn’t really releasing SMB2. By now this game’s origins in well known, but back in the 1980s most gamers would have been shocked to realise that Nintendo took a preexisting game called DOKI DOKI PANIC, replaced the vaguely Arabian characters (one who was visibly pregnant) with Mario sprites, changed a few other sprites, rework the ending some, but otherwise leaving the game mechanics and the levels alone.

Nintendo had already released a SUPER MARIO BROTHERS 2 in Japan, but that game was much like the second quest of Zelda, a much harder version of what is ultimately the same game. When it came time to release a SMB2 in America, the upper management bulked because of the Japanese title’s extreme difficulty and remarkable similarity to the first SMB. Howard Lincoln, at the time in charge of the North America division of Nintendo (and for you oldschool Nintendo Power readers, he’s one half of the title characters comic strip “Howard and Nestor”) also hated the Japanese SUPER MARIO 2. So they opted to release another game in its stead.

Enter YUME Kôjô: DOKI DOKI PANIC (rough translation: “Dream Factory: Heart Pounding Panic”). Developed in cooperation with Fuji Television in promotion of Dream Factory ‘87, an event promoting Fuji’s new television shows and other projects, DOKI DOKI PANIC, the game features a family of four characters who had to rescue these two lost children. In the game’s intro, two children are reading from a book, when a giant hand grabs the children’s faces and drags them into the book. The children’s pet monkey, Chim Chim, runs and grabs the Arabian family, who also just happened to be the mascots of the Dream Factory ‘87 promotional event. Convenient, that. The family was Imagin (the son, replaced by Mario), Lina (Imajin’s little sister, replaced by Princess Toadstool), Mama (who is clearly pregnant, with one of her hands clearly protecting her belly during gameplay; she was replaced by Luigi), and Papa (replaced by Toad). The family enters into the world of Subcon to beat Wart (Mamu, as he is known in Japan, as well as the 1993 gameboy Zelda title LINK’S AWAKENING, his only other appearance in a Nintendo game). Other than the family, all game characters were developed by Nintendo.

Now, what are the differences? I won’t list them all here (google Doki Doki Panic and you’ll find plenty of sites detailing the differences between SMB2 and Doki). Actually, other than some graphical changes, none of the changes really effects gameplay with two major exception. All four main characters are identical to their Doki counterparts. The B-button super speed run was added to SMB2. Nintendo replaced the storyline of having two kids kidnapped to Wart capturing Subcon people and Mario having to free them. Still, the replacement storyline fits in with the original dreamworld association that was associated with Doki Doki (which, after all, means Dream Factory).

The first of the two major differences between Doki Doki is that to see the end of the game, you must beat it with all four characters. The four characters have savable progress, and when you clear the game with all four then the ending displays. The second major difference is the replacement of Mouser in World 5-3 (his third appearance as the world end boss) with Clawgrip, a character exclusive too SMB2.

What does this all have to do with our perception of SMB2 today? As SMB2’s origins have become common knowledge to video game enthusiasts and Nintendo fans (I found out in the late 1990s), a lot of people have put down this game due to it not being a Mario game to begin with. But back in the 1980s and 1990s, before DOKI DOKI became well known, the general critical consensus was SMB2, though a vast departure from the original, was a very fun, well-executed game on its own right. The game is among the highest selling Nintendo games of all time, with only SMB and SMB3 outselling the title on the original NES. When they reissued SMB2 in 2001 as SUPER MARIO ADVANCE, the title sold very well also, and is the highest selling title in the ADVANCED series.

There is another factor to consider. Despite what the purists say, Shigeru Miyamoto was heavily involved in the development of this game, and actually had nothing to do with the Japanese SMB2. As DOKI DOKI was to be a one-off promotional item for Fuji’s Dream Factory, there has been some well-founded speculation Nintendo was planning this to be a Mario title the whole time and wanted to test the game by releasing it in Japan first. The packaging on DOKI has a picture of Mario and Imagin together.

While it is true SMB3, this game’s sequel, reneged on most of SMB2 game mechanics, opting to return to the original SMB for its primary inspiration, most of SMB2’s enemy characters became permanent cast members in the Mario echelon.

Overall, though not originally released as a Mario title, for all gamers outside of Japan, this is what we think of as SMB2. Playing thru the LOST LEVELS, which we finally got on the Virtual Console on October 1, 2007 (21 years after the fact), I’m glad Nintendo did what it did. And since Nintendo did release a separate SMB2, we know have four NES Mario titles. Mea culpa. Fortunate accident.

For my money, SMB2 is one of my all time favorite games. I have distinct memories of trying to get SMB2 for the NES but couldn’t because it was selling out so fast. This was the big game of Christmas 1988, and you were a lucky kid indeed that had this game under their Christmas tree

For me, it is the one game, even more than SMB, that brings back the sweet incense of childhood and long bygone days I often times wish I could return too. I have played and beaten the game countless times, but every time I go thru it I just feel transported back to my childhood.

And for that mere fact, SUPER MARIO BROTHERS 2 is a truly priceless game.

The Ear Force X31 is our third generation of wireless headsets for the XBOX 360. Like the X3, the X31 combines XBOX live chat with wireless game sound so you can hear the game sound and the voices of other players in the headset. In other words, it replaces your XBOX communicator headset and external speakers. By hearing the XBOX Live chat in the center of your head rather than in one ear, you can communicate better online. By eliminating speakers you can turn up the game without disturbing others. And, by having the game sound right on top of your ears, you can hear even the softest sound cues that are impossible to hear with speakers. For example, you can hear when someone is quietly sneaking up on you and react faster. That means you’ll have a totally immersive gaming experience while becoming a better player. Just like the X3, the X31 includes a headset and small transmitter. As you can see, the colors have been changed so it’s easy to see it’s a new model. What is different, however, is that we made the headset more comfortable by increasing the size of the ear cups so they sit around your ears rather than on top of them. We also replaced the vinyl ear cushions with these soft, fabric mesh cushions that let your ears breathe. The most significant improvement is that the X31 uses digital 2.4 Giga Hertz Radio Frequency wireless technology. This new digital RF technology is a huge improvement over analog IR because it delivers CD-quality sound with no background hiss, no interference from plasma TV screens and no line of sight restrictions between the transmitter and headset. Sound quality is improved with new 40mm speakers that use the same design as our high-quality X41 50mm speakers for better frequency response and improved clarity in the game sound. Inside the headset is a digital signal processor for bass boost and stereo expander effects, which can be turned on by pressing this button. This makes the expander more dramatic than the X3.

Great headset, needs few improvements…4
I waited to write my review until a week after receiving my headset. I have owned two sets of Turtle Beach headsets, I have an audio background, and I wanted to write a definitive review from somebody who has used multiple sets of their products and had knowledge in the audio field. The Turtle Beach X31’s are a repackaging/redesign of the popular Turtle Beach X3 headset. I’ve owned the Turtle Beach X1’s and now the X31’s.

I’ll start with the good. The X31’s have some great features! Here is a list of basic features and improvements:

-Almost everything is updated! The X31’s improve on everything that was decent in previous Turtle Beach headsets and you can tell Turtle Beach is definitely ironing out some of the complaints from previous model headsets and starting to get it “right.”

-Newly redesigned 40mm drivers/speakers. You can hear a difference in the quality! Upper mids and highs/treble frequencies are a lot better represented, providing more clarity to the game sound.

-Chat boost. When the game audio gets louder, it slightly increases chat volume to match it so the game audio doesn’t drown out chat voices.

-Effects. Bass boost button. Stereo widening button. Stereo widening + bass boost button. (each are all on the same button, you click it a number of times and hear an audible beep in your headset each step of the way)

-Power. Runs on two AAA’s. I recommend Duracell rechargeable NiMh batteries. Battery life is what the package claims from my personal testing. It has a circuit in the headphones that helps use up every bit of power from the batteries. Typical battery life is around 20 hours in regular use with Bass Boost engaged. Also, the headset will shut off automatically if no signal is detected for five minutes, which is nice.

-Comfort. They redesigned the headphone cups to go around your ears better. The material on the cups is also softer and less plastic like. It’s fabric mesh that is more breathable.

-Wireless. Truly wireless. Wires all plug in near your TV then you only have one wire to your controller to pick up the chat. The wire is redesigned as well, there is no “puck,” it’s a straight shot into your controller so that you can use the chatpad if you have it as well. =)

-Technology. 2.4ghz RF that is no longer “line-of-sight.” In testing, the unit worked anywhere around my TV from within about 15 feet of the sender unit.

-Basic functions. Boom mic that bends out of your way easily. Being able to mix the chat/audio on separate controls. You can actually hear in older emulated games like Halo 2! (emulation makes the voice really soft in a game like Halo 2 if you’re running it on a 360)

-Audio quality. This is a very nice headset compared to Turtle Beach’s older models. I really enjoyed my X1’s, but they were overly bassy, especially in the chat. This time around, it seems like the chat and audio go through separate processing. There’s more mids and highs, not “bass all the time only with a bit of highs sprinkled in.” The dynamic range is a lot clearer, there’s more frequencies represented and better separation at loud volumes.

-Online advantage. I play mostly first person shooters online. I would say this headset has saved me at least 2-3 times PER MATCH that I’ve tried it out in. The better audio quality makes footsteps stand out better than with previous Turtle Beach models. The games I tested were: Doom, Halo 2, Halo 3, Battlefield: Bad Company, Battlefield: 1943, Call of Duty 4, Ghost Recon, and some other non-FPS games. In each game, I could clearly hear when there were footsteps around me. Also, even though the headset is only stereo (no 5.1 Dolby Digital), you can hear a distinct direction each sound is coming from with this headset. I could even hear when there were snipers around me, I could hear the bolt cycling on their sniper rifle! (even if they were upstairs…play Bad Company with this headset, it’s a real treat!)

-Mic monitoring. Mixes in a bit of your own voice so you don’t talk too loudly with the headset on.

Now here’s a list of the negatives/improvements I think Turtle Beach could make:

-Price. Still a bit rough at $99.95. They are worth it, but a $79.99 tag seems a bit more realistic to me for Turtle Beach going forward.

-Mic monitoring. It mixes in your voice and you can hear yourself in pre-game lobbies, but let’s get realistic here, as soon as all the game audio comes in, you can’t hear yourself AT ALL. You still end up talking too loudly with the headset on.

-Material on earcups. The headphones are way more comfortable, but I noticed all around my ears you’ll get some kind of black ink wear-off. The material they used rubs off on your skin and leaves black marks all around your ears? I can’t believe somebody didn’t notice this when playtesting the headphones before the company gave the green light to ship them?

-Chat. I know it’s hard to take a low-level, noisy chat signal that is using really small bandwidth from Xbox Live and increase it real loud and make it sound good. The chat is a HUGE improvement, don’t get me wrong. I still think they could make it better. They mention that there is no “hiss” from game audio. There isn’t. The game audio itself sounds uncompressed and great. The problem is, you get a noisy chat signal, plus if you’re using a wireless controller with batteries, you get an annoying hiss from that with the chat signal. I do not know for the life of me why Turtle Beach (an audio company, mind you) could not implement a “noise gate” into the chat processing so low level hiss could be eliminated and the gate would open up when speaking or voice comes through. That could be a simple button you could use to turn the noise gate on or off.

Also, with the chat, they took ALL the bass out of chat. It would be nice to have a little bass in there. Games like Halo 3 have the chat so loud that it starts to break up and distort, it’s almost too much treble all the time in your ears! (and yes, I have the chat set up correctly, it’s not boosted too much and my sender unit is set correctly as well along with dashboard/guide chat volume)

-Audio levels. A big one for me. It seems like you don’t get audio out of the headset until it’s up 1/3 of the way, then it starts increasing. You wish there was just a bit more audio that you could push the volume level to. You wish there was just a bit more bass that was added in as well. You still get a full bass sound, but it’s not close to the X1’s. I know it’s wireless and they made them a bit quieter and with a little less bass to conserve battery life since low frequencies take more energy to reproduce notes, but you still wish there was a bit more, especially after using the X1’s that get LOOOOUD and have a ton of bass! I was expecting the bass boost button to do a tad bit more…

-Battery life. Great at around 20 hours. I wanted to point out once again to buy rechargeables, because you will definitely go through batteries!

-Effects. I found the “stereo widening” function absolutely useless. It’s not something they needed to add in and they could have made some other better effect or maybe another click to the bass boost instead.

Over all, I gave this headset a 4 our of 5. It’s a great headset and a nice step up in features from the X1’s and X3’s. I think if Turtle Beach does one more headset, they will get everything right and put out an even better product. Worth the money, I would buy this headset again and recommend it to friends.

Thanks for reading my review!

A great gaming enhancing experience!5
Ok first of all, to all those who are trying to scare off potential buyers with the “popping/ crackling” noise, you don’t know how to read instructions. The popping noise isn’t a problem if you know where to correctly place your headphone equipment. These headphones offer quality you can’t get with most t.vs. I can hear footsteps of the enemy as they try to sneak up on me, gunshots off in the distance, the action sounds like its right there.

The headphones are a comfortable fit with a decent mic. I can whisper into the mic and my friends can hear me no problem. This is an excellent alternative for gaming at night. I highly recommend this to anybody who wants to hear everything, including the chat of your friends or foe. With chat boost, chat is not drowned out with explosions.

I am purposely keeping this review short because I saw so many good reviews. I was worried about buying this because of the “noise popping” comments, and I am writing this to clear any concerns potential buyers may have. I have a wireless internet router in the same room as my gaming system and headphones. As long as you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS about placement, you can game effortlessly without any distractions. Haven’t had any problem at all with these headphones. Best accessory purchase I’ve made.

The product that I needed!4
I bought this product after mulling over the other Turtle Beach headsets for my Xbox 360 gaming. I am very impressed with these headphones. I had no idea that there were that many sounds going on in the game until I put these on. It’s amazing what I was missing just listening through my TV set. The reason I bought these is for late night gaming session where I need it quiet for the rest of the sleeping house. And, it does this perfect. The chat is also very clear. The setup is very simple. All in all a great product for my needs and wants.
